I have a question for ZoZo's Mom. May I know if you use any regular homeschooling curriculum (such as A beka, Bob Jones, ...etc. ) or you plan your own homeschooling curriculum? How do you come up with so many excellent projects for ZoZo? While I was in Illinois state, I had thought about homeschooling my kids. Now, my 1st kid is at a public elementary school in Taiwan. While other students are sent to the after-school classes, my daughter is learning English at home from a native English speaker tutor. She has a half-day for regular school and a quater-day for homeschooling (1/4 day is for doing her school homework). I really appreciate you share your homeschooling experience at the program. I do hope that in the near future, you will have a site to share more of your homeschooling techniques with us. Thank you.

Thanks for your comment, h.
I don't use any specific curriculum. I mix and match whatever I can find in bookstores and on the Internet. I use Polish, Taiwanese and American workbooks and print a lot of things off the web.
The ideas for the projects just come to me :-) (I actually have a problem of having too many ideas) But before we start a project I always discuss it with Zozo to see if she is interested in it. Very often we start doing something simple and then it grows into a bigger project simply because Zozo wants to know more about it.
Every trip (in Taiwan or abroad) we try to make into a learning experience too. We read about the place we are about to go and later Zozo writes a report on what she has seen (or draws something). She can choose the language in which to write - Chinese, Polish or English.
If you are thinking about homeschooling in Taiwan and want to learn more about it you can still contact us or one of the homeschooling organisations (their url is on this page).
(You mention you lived in IL. I've spend some time in Urbana-Champaign.)
